NPWC Christian Discipleship Process
The North Park Worship Centre Christian Discipleship Process seeks to equip and foster the development of mature disciples of Christ by engaging them in the four pillars of discipleship:
- Growth in knowledge: Learning the theological and practical truth of the Word.
- Spiritual Transformation: Becoming more like Christ in character and conduct.
- Gifted Service: Learning, developing and deploying spiritual gifts.
- Missional living: Impacting the world for Christ.
This is a new initiative for our church community and therefore, one that may stretch, challenge, and take us out of our comfort zones. It is vital that we align ourselves with the Word of God and the vision of the Church that sees discipleship as foundational to the Church, the body of Christ in fulfilling its calling and identity as the redeemed people of God.
All adults over 18 are encouraged to be part of the adult group. Individuals 12 -17 years will be discipled by Pastor Kyrel and his team. Children under 12 will be discipled by Sister Blanche Plummer and Children’s Ministry in collaboration with parent(s) or guardians.
Jesus instructs us that discipleship comes at a cost and he assures us that if we are willing to pay the cost, we are aligning ourselves with God’s plan for our lives, which is to be conformed to the image of Christ.
“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” -Ephesians 4:13 (NLT)
NPWC Christian Discipleship Process will utilize a four-phase curriculum. Each phase consists of 26-28 lessons. Each phase will be taught in two semesters per year, a winter semester, and a fall semester, for the next four years.
