We recognized October is clergy appreciation month, a time set aside to appreciate and honour the service our pastors, bishops, ministers, deacons, and other clergy members.
Paul remind us to acknowledge and honour those who work diligently for the Lord by serving and ministering to his people:
” 2Dear brothers and sisters, honour those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance. 13Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work.”
Pastors and clergy serve the church and its people daily. They make themselves available to the community during important and difficult life moments and make great sacrifices for the sake of the Gospel. It is not easy work to be a clergy person, but it is an honourable service.
Continue to show your appreciation to the clergy members at your church. Share a word of encouragement with them. Write them a heartfelt note. And most importantly, continue to pray for them as we trust that they faithfully do the same for you. Pray that they would be strengthened, encouraged, and compassionate about the work of the Lord, and that they would continue to draw closer to God and serve him wholeheartedly.
