Richard Dennis
Biography
Minister Richard Dennis was born and grew up in the parish of Saint Andrew, Jamaica. He accepted the Lord at a young age and became a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in 1982. Even as a young Christian, his love for the Lord resulted in a strong passion for ministry. He quickly got involved in the church, assisting with services, whenever given the opportunity.
He migrated to Canada in 1990, where he became a member of North Park. Richard married the love of his life, Dionne Morrison, in 1994, and together they have three daughters, Chantell, Oneisha and Brianna. The Dennis’ home has been a welcoming place for vulnerable youth in the community, as over the last fifteen years, his family circle has been extended to include eighteen foster children. While some may come for a few months and others for an extended period, the children are able to experience a stable home environment. They are always made to feel very much a part of the family.
Minister Dennis’ love for the Lord, love for people, his dedication to prayer and his enthusiasm in guiding the people of God in worship, lead the church in experiencing the dynamic presence of the Holy Spirit. At North Park, he has served as a Youth Leader, Small Group Leader and Young Adults Sunday School Teacher. His presence was impactful, especially to the young people who needed a positive Christian role-model in their lives. He responded to the call of God and was a regular participant in various Evangelical Training Association courses, as well as Leadership Development courses and workshops. Minister Richard Dennis became an ordained Minister on November 2, 2008.
He desires to preach the Gospel wherever he goes, hoping to impact and change lives for the glory of Christ. One of his favourite scriptures is:
“I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalms 34:1 KJV
He is a skilled cabinet maker and the proud owner of R&D Woodworking Enterprises Inc. He displays dedication to his craft and strives to ensure that his clients receive as much satisfaction from his work as he does from creating it. His craftsmanship may be seen in the foyer of North Park, other churches, and homes in the GTA.
Richard is a fun-loving person; whose radiant smile and cheerful disposition engage those who interact with him. In his spare time, he enjoys biking.
